'Wee' Paddy

It has been so lovely to spend time with my (other) adult nephew over the weekend. Here he is: 6'4" tall 'wee' Paddy. (He once really was wee.)

Paddy joined in the family dinner tonight hosted by my sister-in-law Sam and her fiancé Alan. Apart from myself and Mr hazelh, the other guests were: Paddy's girlfriend Dani; my sister-in-law Jacinda, her partner Julian, and their daughter Florence; and my (step) mother-in-law Christine. It was a very lively affair. Not for the first time when in such company, our gadgets that warn us of too high an exposure to noise sent out alerts during the evening.

Earlier in the day, Sam, Mr hazelh and I drove over to Christine's house to look through some of my late father-in-law's belongings and identify any items that we would like to take home with us. Mr hazelh and I chose a couple of mementos including a lovely antique portable writing desk, and a scary 1959 portrait of my father-in-law that his children used to call 'Green Daddy'.

Mr hazelh and Alan were the most active members of the family today. They set off for a 30-mile bike ride this morning while the rest of us lounged about at home.
