Although our home is now 184 years old, when we restored and converted it to our home and studio it is now a reasonably energy efficient building.

Heat is now provided by air source heat pumps, in place of an oil fired boiler. The bulk of heat is provided underfloor heating and there is heat recovery ventilation throughout.

I could add battery storage and solar panels. However the building is Grade B listed and the installation of solar panels is not likely to achieve listed building consent.

I do record our electricity usage on a daily basis. I have done this for several years and somewhat surprisingly our usage has reduced.

Another sign of global warming?
