Whoosh Sky behind La Quille du Diable …

… which means the devil's bowling pin, lies on the edge of the high Tsanfleuron Glacier, part of the Diablerets Range, and overlooks the valley of Derborence at 1,500m (4,900 ft) lower. Extra showing the big Valaisan peaks behind La Quille. 

Sadly the restaurant which has been at the col below La Quille, is now permanently closed as the owners retired and no one has taken it over. The col is a passage for Bearded Vultures which nest in the Derborence Valley and I have often seen them there. I once was having lunch there with blippers, Ros and Trevor Earthy, when Trevor said, “Bearded Vulture coming in! “ and one flew overhead! I hadn’t believed him as we’d been joking about seeing it all morning! Typical!
