Above And Beyond...

Cycle

We got granddaughter Amelia to school for 9am, and after having a bacon roll and coffee from The Welsh Whopper roadside van, got to Tongwynlais Village on the outskirts of Cardiff (South Wales, UK) to cycle the Taff Trail.

I stopped in Coopers Field next to Cardiff Castle and took the aerial photo' of it and the Civic Centre buildings behind. The motte dates from 1091 AD but the whole castle is built on a Roman Camp from mid 1st century, some of those walls the current castle is built upon.

My dad was out so we continued to Penarth seafront to visit my brother and his wife. With the sun out, we sat for an hour on their balcony overlooking the sea,  chatting over a cuppa.

Just before crossing over Cardiff Bay Barrage on the way home, the rear disc pad of my cycle shot out, so we had a stop at the cyle shop in Monmouth on the way home for Richard to fix it!

Cardiff City FC play Burnley tonight. We'll do well to get a win but even a draw against the promotion chasers will be welcome!
