Ancestry

Thanks to chats with my sisters when we were together in Nice, I decided to buy both sister Sarah and husband Martin a DNA testing kit for Christmas.  My family have always been pretty interested in family trees & family history etc. though I admit it was quite a random present.

Martin got his results back last week and it was so exciting to see the wealth of information he has access to.  There were no surprises (he's mostly Scottish) but it was so easy to input into the family tree and see how you could get lost in the investigations.  The connections obviously depend on who has done the tests - and so if you are interested I urge you to do it.  Several people I know have had life changing information revealed to them!

Most intriguing for me though was an analysis of 'traits' showing what Martin had inherited from parent 1 and parent 2 and how likely he was  to have inherited each (*mind blowing....*).  For example, it said he was unlikely to be good at dancing - and he isn't. x

It was exciting enough for me to buy my own kit and today I sent it off...

Dad I'm thinking about this for your 89th birthday present!?
