Shrove Tuesday

Another frosty morning, followed by a beautiful sunny day. After a walk into the village via the allotment, I returned home so we could exercise Merlin together.  We had a pleasant wander noticing signs of spring, including daffodils, cherry blossom and the sound of greater spotted woodpeckers drumming on tree trunks. Later I returned to the allotment to continue  filling a newly emptied compost bin with manure and wood chip. I’m trying to make more compost this year.  Then we walked Merlin in the meadow, and like this morning, enjoyed catching up with a number of with dog walking acquaintances that we’d not seen in a while.  My blip is of the view from the meadow looking east towards the village church. We had pancakes for dinner this evening - first a savoury version, then with lemon and honey.
