A Verterbra

Found this solitary vertebra lying next to the footpath across a field…no sign of any other bones close by!

It is quite big - about 9-10 cm from left to right in the photo. Am thinking it is possibly from  a deer. It does look to have some bits missing - possibly chewed - maybe a dog picked it up to play with it!!

The sun was quite bright and the shadows were strong so I shot a five shot bracket and merged to HDR in Lightroom. Am wishing that I had done it as a focus stack as well!

Still suffering with my cold - although I seem a bit less ‘runny’ than yesterday, but still coughing and my sinuses are blocked. At least getting out in the fresh air helps to clear ‘the tubes’ - although temporarily.
