Stag party...
Part of a group of red deer stags which were mooching around near Ladderstile Gate in Richmond Park when I arrived this morning. Another gloriously sunny day, although the park is still largely in its winter colours and these boys were all still wearing their thick winter coats. Not the best time to be a stag in the park as there is currently a cull in operation for another three weeks.
Today's extra is at the opposite end of the scale in terms of size. These lovely little fluff balls were part of a clutch of eight Egyptian goslings who were munching grass under the watchful gaze of mum and dad by the Pen Ponds. They seem to me to be a very early brood and I hope they don't provide a snack for any of the opportunist predators which lurk in the park.
