Ash Wednesday. Sunshine and Shadows
The beginning of Lent.
It is always a poignant day for me, even now almost 20 years on.
It just happened to fall on the day I collected our Matt’s ashes. He had not long had his 30th birthday.
I sat in the garden with them all afternoon on a beautiful day, A day like today.
Only now it still brings back the memories,
We had our two youngest grandchildren, soon to be 6 and 9, here for lunch and part of the afternoon. Matt never had the chance to see his brother’s children.
After we dropped them back home we went for a breather at the Farmhouse Bistro and Craft Centre!
I took the photo as we were just leaving to come back here, as I liked the light and shadows.
I may be sparse with comments in the next few days as I will be going into hospital at 7:00am Friday morning.
We have been busily getting things ready and it’s been a great week for washing, all of which has dried on the line,
What a lovely week so far for blue skies, bright sunshine and Spring flowers appearing everywhere.
The Woodpecker is drumming early on, and loads of bird song,
Buzzards were wheeling overhead this afternoon, calling. It’s mating season.
I won’t even comment on the State of the Union in the States………
