Four (Day) Cortina

Started my new employment at the Grand Metropolitan plc daughter company Berni Inns headquarters in Bristol on my birthday, the 1st September. One of the first things was being presented with the keys to my brand spanking new, red Ford Cortina GL. 

For the first 3 days I drove it the 2 miles to my hotel & back to the office the next morning. As I left on the Friday to return home to Sussex, I had about 10 miles on the clock when just leaving the centre, someone jumped a junction on a hill and collided with me!. 

It wasn't serious, fault wasn't denied but still very embarrassing to have to phone the office just 10 minutes after leaving. I could continue the journey and have it repaired at home.

I have been in crashes in all red cars I've had. First my lovely Saab 96 tank, then this Ford Cortina twice, then a Chrysler Avenger. Since then, I swore never to own a red car again & always had to pray I never got one when renting one.
