Totnes

Took the bus over to Totnes today to go and see the exhibition of Sky’s grandparents! Stuart makes prayer paintings which are very beautiful and takes pictures of his dirty hand indicating the helplessness of our place in the world faced with wars and agressions!

Eila, his wife, made sculptures from bits of metal found on the streets or sea shore! It reminded her of the craters in German cities after the war that she had seen in pictures! I should have taken pictures but didn’t.

As I walked back down the Main Street I noticed the arch and the colours and took the photo. It was a fresh and beautiful day and getting towards the end of the afternoon . The bus journey is not short and I had a book to read which was a joy!
