Balloon launching . . .

………………………………… very close by, this morning.
I think it must have landed in the paddock by those houses and then taken off again.

One of my neighbours spearheaded a presentation at the Arrowtown Museum this morning, talking about his own frequent involvement with the Museum’s history, and also how the museum has developed over the years. Apparently the building itself plus land was gifted to the Museum by the Bank of New Zealand and then the major internal developments happened, plus earthquake strengthening.
The current Museum Manager is very personable and knowledgeable and was able to tell us the most current details. It was all very fascinating. Some of the local school children have hands-on history lessons there, even dressing in the clothes of the time.
