The mightiest of the lot...

Apparently there are over 4,000 castles in England, this is the biggest and mightiest - Dover Castle.  This castle was started in 1180s by King Henry ll and continued to be built for the next 800 years.  Built above the seaport and town of Dover on the white cliffs it is huge.  I have taken many photos of this castle over the years but never posted any on blip but l quite like this one showing 3 distinct eras of building - the castle, below that the Edwardian/Victorian and then the modern architecture of the present.

...and now it's results day.  We were just staggered by the nearly 100 entries for the mono Monday entry "narrative, every picture tells a story".  Everyone was given a star as l went through and l tried to comment on each photo although the nearer it got to 100 the briefer the comments became (sorry).  Lesley and l were almost unanimous in our initial thoughts and here are our decisions based on photo and story:
