Seed Glutton
A sunny day saw me heading to RHS Wisley for fresh air and a wander.
No visit would be complete without a stroll up to the bird hide through the pinetum and back along the river. I saw my first kingfisher from this hide 10 years ago, and a few times since. However, recently the pond has dried out a bit - I think the recent dry seasons have taken their toll and perhaps damaged the lining as it is now rather water weed congested, and I haven't seen a kingfisher there for some time. Still, it doesn't stop the local birds visiting the large bird feeder positioned in front of the hide.
Today, I had my long lens with me and after missed opportunities and waiting patiently managed to catch this nuthatch darting in to grab a few seeds.
