New life on old vine

It was a sunny day, a day to tackle some yard cleanup - gathering the branches pruned from our hawthorn tree, pulling weeds out of the dry river,  gathering more leaves blown down from the deciduous trees.  The photo is of the new leaves on our rose bush.  We took this as a sign that (hopefully) winter is over and spring is at the doorstep.
