Pretending ...

...to be cute? And yes, when you catch sight of a grey squirrel doing its thing, your first reaction tends to be 'awwwww' - or at least, mine is. But today I had time for a closer look. For all that this one has adopted a real Squirrel Nutkin pose, I began to see ... a rat.

This was taken in Roselle, in Alloway. Now I'm back in Argyll, where we still see red squirrels - though I doubt I'll ever get a photo of one!
