Vole

This kestrel stole the meal from the barn owls twice in less than a couple of hours. Easy pickings really as the strategy was simple: she saw the owl hit the floor and capture the vole then flew in pronto to scare the owl away .... no fight involved just scare tactics. I have to say I was incensed by the blatant robbery and audaciousness of the plan but pleased I was there to see it.
