Rescue
Frost free grass to walk on, Dippy found a carrion Crow that couldn’t take off. No malice he wanted it to fly away so that he could chase it. On closer inspection it had an open fracture its wing, quite feisty and so I returned to Amadeus with it and a bewildered Dippy who wondered why his morning romp had been shortened. I found a sock and popped it in to prevent any further damage. We continued on our walk observing a Green woodpecker, a pair of tree creepers, blue tits, great tits, dozens of pheasants, Muscovy ducks (one eating a frog see first extra). Dippy tore off at a rate of knots ears down before two roe deer went crashing through the woods, his nose much more sensitive than mine. A minute or so later tongue dragging on the floor he returned.
I handed over the injured bird in the car park due to the possibility of avian influenza. I have still to hear its destiny.
The rest of the day was spent “bumping” into friends and others while enjoying positive conversations with them. A lovely chat with my doctor resulting in a very positive outcome regarding a reference letter to maybe help with finding a more suitable dwelling place for Dippy and I.
I purchased two books from a charity shop for world book day, Happiness and Resilience.
A really good swim relaxing my still sore back muscles ending a good day here on this beautiful earth.
