Nonsense
I tell you, I could get used to 3 day working weeks... Using up some annual leave again, and we definitely made the most of it! As it's World Book Day, I started my Bookworm Challenge for BCHC Charity; I'm aiming to try for 12 books during the 4-week challenge, and trying to raise £500 (so any donations, shares, and book recs are very welcomed!) I got over halfway through my first book, Maybe I Don't Belong Here by David Harewood this morning, before Rich & I headed into Brum. After a delicious pastrami, cheese, and pickle sandwich and a couple of beverages, we popped to the Odeon for The Monkey. Sadly, I was a little disappointed by it. Tonally it's all over the place, like it doesn't know what it wants to be; not funny enough for a comedy, not scary enough for a horror, not gory enough for a slasher, not interesting enough for a thriller... Many of the performances are a bit crap, the dialogue leaves a lot to be desired, and in some parts it was flat out boring. Shame, I was really looking forward to it; at least some of the kills were pretty good! This evening, we went to see Sabrina Carpenter, and thankfully she did not disappoint! She's absolutely fantastic live and puts on a really brilliant show. I was particularly enamoured by her use of the stage space, having different raised segments all over the place so that even us shorties got some excellent views. Overall, a very good day.
