Flower-bed-to-be

This patch was covered in concrete not long ago. After that was removed, it was home to a pallet containing sand and slate. Yesterday morning I removed the by-then empty pallet, exposing a 'ground' level 10-15cm higher than it is now. Since then I have been turning over what was there and unearthing a huge volume of bricks, whole and broken; broken tiles; slates; glass and, um, rusty car parts. This afternoon I took 21kg of metal to the metal salvage works, of which I estimate about 13kg came out of here. 

There is a bit more rubbish to dig out, then I shall fill the space with soil and shade-tolerant plants.
