On this day I was able to give my sister a break from being at the house while it was being painted. Once that was done, I still had enough time to clear out the final loads of stuff. This was the hard things. I saved the bible that was given to my dad by the church when he was 9 years old in 1945, the hat my grandfather wore when he was a fire chief in a district in Seattle, the personal notes from my mom (unread as of now) and... but of course, I could not save everything... Two loads went to two different charities and the rest went to the dump.. It was hard knowing some memories were being forever lost but..
What is left to do is some landscaping (yes legal compliance stuff), the chimney, the floors, the... but the house has no more items left in it.. So eerie to hear the echoes.. We are still trying to get it on the market before April as we don't want to pay half the property taxes but...
When I got home, Tiger had been alone for about 20 hours... so we played, played and played some more...
