Here's a fantastic Portland sight--murals painted in local intersections by neighbors! This unique and innovative form of placemaking fosters public gathering and encourages drivers to slowdown. It is a way of creating distinctive and livable space through public engagement. In Portland it is sponsored by a non-profit called City Repair. How wonderful to discover one of these projects as you walk through town. What a great way to decorate our lives!
