Every Little Step

Still Sleeping.

Well, the cyclone finally arrived.

We stayed up quite late last night as the storm raged around us.

In the end we all went to bed.

It wasn't as bad as we expected, but then we've been very lucky.

We haven't lost power or our water.

I don't think the cyclone was as bad as the tornado we had on Christmas Day in 2023.

When I got up this morning, I could hear this roaring sound, but the trees didn't even seem to be moving, and the air felt very mild.

Luckily it gave us a bit of time for Molly to go outside for a toilet break.

And then the wind and rain started again.

Alexandra wasn't keen to drive over and get the girls and suggested to Peter that they stay with him for a bit longer.

But he insisted on bringing them over to us at 8am as usual.  Probably just as well as he's got no power and who knows how long it will be before it's restored.

There are 270,000 homes without power in Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

We are surrounded by streets without any power but for some strange reason we are okay.  The same thing happened at Christmas 2023.

Very odd, but we are very grateful to be in this strange situation.
