A Rare Moment

Yes, indeedy, those would be my big feet. Kicked up! It's been a long day.

I have to whine. My dear mother-in-law spoiled my daughter rotten. After lunch at the Chuck E's, she took her shopping for her birthday and came home with half the store! It's just so ridiculous for her to blow all that money on 3 bags of toys when, truely, she doesn't need or appreicate it. And "it's my bingo winnings" isn't a good enough excuse. She's on a fixed income and certain doesn't have money to blow.

I am very lucky to have a MIL who is wonderful to my kids. Babysits whenever I need her to, at a moment's notice. We get along so well. And she wonders why the kids have so many toys and make such a mess of them! Well?!!!

So then later she took her to the dollar store....for some more.

Hard to explain to these kids that we really are in hard times. Things aren't easy for so many people. We can't afford every want and desire. You need to save up for something special. Right??

I think a difficult part of parenting in this area is not raising children who feel entited to whatever they want. It's much more than grammas lavishing love on their grandkids. It just set me off today.
