Above And Beyond...

School View

It's been a lovely sunny day which saw me at Bell ringing practice at our local St Giles Church, Goodrich (Herefordshire, UK) for a couple of hours.

With the sun still out I headed to nearby Monmouth (South Wales) to take an aerial view of The Haberdashers School on the Old Hereford Road. It's a prominent building that can be seen on the side of a hill for miles. The building in the photo' was built in 1865 AD, but the original school for boys in the town centre was formed in 1614!  Nothing remains of that building but the school has a site there as well. There are five school buildings in the town and the one in the photo' can be seen to be linked by a covered walkway over the road.

The oldest son arrived for the 3pm kick-off of Sunderland v Cardiff City FC match on tv. Cardiff were a goal down within two minutes but level before half time. We eventually lost 2-1 so a win on Tueday night is really needed!

We're off out for our usual meal and drink tonight.
