Holy Trinity church, Ashe

Back in Jane Austen country. This is the church at Ashe.  Austen had connections with the church through the Lefroy family, Anne Lefroy was her friend who encouraged her writing. In the church yard, a memorial to Robert Portal, whose own claim to fame is that he was one of the few survivors of the Charge of the Light Brigade.

I missed the latter - must go and revisit.
