Being watched
Gavin left early this morning to drive to Norfolk as he had to take up things that are required by the rental agency, which we had to order this week. Things like fire extinguishers, a fire blanket, a bbq etc. He is also bring back some more of our personal things so there wasn't room in the car for Xena and I to join him in addition to all this stuff. While there he chatted to our neighbour who said his brother uses the holiday rental agency we will be using and cannot praise them highly enough, so that reassured me somewhat.
I had to take my car to get a new tyre. We discovered a few weeks ago that one tyre had a bulge in it so it needed replacing. We ordered the new tyre a while ago so this morning I took it to be fitted and they did a great job and were very quick, so I did not have long to wait while it was fitted.
Once I was back home again I decided to take Xena to Bushy Park for a walk. A bad decision as this weekend the M25 is closed from J10 to J11 due to the ongoing A3/M25 project, so the roads around us were so busy with ridiculous traffic. With the M25 closed drivers have to use back routes to get to and from the Heathrow and Gatwick airports so it was very busy. It took me 1 hour to get there instead of my usual 15 minutes.
It was once again a warm spring day, my car registered 20C and there were people walking around in shorts and T shirts and even some wearing strappy tops - yet next week it is forecast to be 8C so that is quite a cooling off. Once there Xena enjoyed her walk. This was a quick shot of the deer all huddled under the trees, I could not get closer as I had Xena with me so it was the best I could get in the circumstances.
This afternoon I spent ages choosing images for the remaining camera club competitions for the year, plus images for two exhibitions that are coming up. I always re-edit images and then have to get them in the correct format for printing so it took all afternoon. I still haven't decided on images for our mono competition - a judge once said an image should only be in mono if the mono is much better than the colour version, which I agree with. The problem is I don't think any of my images look better in mono than they do in colour!
I watched Conclave on Sky TV last night. I found the cinematography beautiful but the plot was a little slow.
Gavin should be back later tonight so I will have supper ready for him.
