Auction room

3 weeks ago I posted a picture of our spare bedroom with piles of surplus pictures.  Bonhams now have 11 of them for a forthcoming auction. But rather more pictures were deemed too low value for them.  So today MrHCB and I visited a house clearance-type auction house in the next village to see if they might take the other pictures.  We really enjoyed ourselves mooching around all the furniture for sale.  It's lucky we are thinking about downsizing or we might have come away with some beautiful mahogany and walnut pieces!

This afternoon, in the warm sunshine, I mowed with the hand mower about an acre of grass that is too fiddly for the tractor mower.  It's great to mow off the winter "thatch" because this is the grass that we won't mow again until late August after all the orchids and wild flowers have seeded.
