RBL PA Thank You
Today I attended a Thank You event held by the Royal British Legion counties of Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire, known as 'The Three Counties'. There is a showground, near Malvern, which is called the Three Counties Showground. I thought about taking the bike, it was a glorious day, but plumped for the MX-5 instead, top down of course. 16 deg C today, wonderful
It started at 10:30 and I didn't know what to expect so I donned my blazer, RBL Riders tie, and smartened myself up, even splashed on some Old Spice aftershave!
Then I contacted another rider to see if he could come as the other two, that said they would come, contacted me to pull out. Anyway, Rab said he would come, just had to get changed and you can see the two of us in the bottom right hand photo.
When we got there we found almost everyone was wearing polo shirts! Better to be overdressed than underdressed though.
It was very interesting, summing up how incredibly well the 2024 Poppy Appeal period had been, plus donations through the year.
Rab couldn't stay for the, what promised to be a very good sit down lunch, as he and his wife were getting a grandchild dropped off around midday. I couldn't stay because the twins had a birthday party to go to. See Extra. The other people, at the tables behind, were other crafters or party goers, one lady was having her 30th birthday there, in black, top right.
The party had Teddy, Birthday boy, twins and 4 other girls and it was held at Dixie Dots Crafts. A great venue where they could pick a white pottery item, paint it and leave it with them. They would glaze and fire the items and they would get picked up in a couple of days and Teddy's mum will bring them to school for the children.
