The end of a good day.
Spent the afternoon in the front garden, weeding out couch grass and tidying up the straggly and dead foliage. It was sunny and warm, flat calm, lovely. I even had my sleeves rolled up! The temperature wasn't quite up into double figures, but it was very pleasant!
Lottie lay on her mat close by. She had a longish walk in the morning and was enjoying just soaking up the sun. She's usually a poor gardening companion, won't just lie there but demands constant entertainment and attention! Age seems to be making her a bit more laid back about life!
A chap walked past and said hello. He wore a hard hat and was carrying a clipboard/tablet device. I asked if he was checking the flood risk. Oh no, much better news, he was surveying where a broadband fibre cable could be laid! Great excitement! The old BT copper line is useless and most folk in the village struggle to get a decent Internet or phone signal so this will be such a great improvement. He said it wouldn't be too long a wait.
Before going in to make the tea, I took Lottie round the back track. The sun was setting and the sky looked on fire, together with S&B's house! A really good day. Lots accomplished and properly tired.
