Making a Journal with scraps
Week 10 for the Wanderlust course is a lesson about making an art journal for yourself, from scraps. I've made a couple of handmade scrappy journals before and enjoy making them. The instructor Kate Crane had a few new twists for this journal that I had not tried yet and that was nice. She suggested making a fabric page to mix in with the various papers. So far, I've made four "signatures" which are groups of different paper & fabric pages, folded and nested together, see the photo above.
To make the 4 fabric pages (one for each signature) I put the back of 2 fabrics pieces together and machine sewed the edges. Then I chose and cut paper for the pages in different sizes and organized them into signatures with other paper scraps. That's about as far as I got today, but this is a more time consuming project (lesson). I should be able to get back to this tomorrow, yay!
