Swifties of 1900...

In the early 1900s, the Swift Meat Packing Company set up shop in the farming community of Kenton, northeast of Portland. Today, Kenton is a neighborhood within the city. 

On a recent sunny day, I visited this neighborhood with a friend after a walk at Kelly Point Park, where the Willamette River empties into the Columbia River on its way to the Pacific Ocean. (See extra)
