Holly and Hunter in the warm garden.
The 1st Sunday of Lent.
The Feast Day of Saint Francesca of Rome.
Born 1384, Rome, Italy. Died 7th March 1440. Rome, Italy. Canonised in 1608.
Patron saint of automobile drivers, cab drivers, death of children, lay people, people ridiculed for their piety, widows.
Whilst it is quite difficult to condense her life and achievements, Saint Francesca was born into a noble family that lived in Trastevere, Rome Her parents would not allow her to be a nun, as she was eager to be a nun. They married her, age 13, to the commander of the papal troops, who was often away campaigning. Meanwhile, St Francesca helped the poor and sick. She was said to have been guided through the streets by her Guardian Angel, bearing a lamp. St Francesca enjoyed ecstasies and visions. She founded the religious order called the Oblates of Mary.
Today is beautifully sunny here and mild outdoors.13c. I am very grateful. I have put some washing on the line. It is 84f in the conservatory. There are bumble bees in the garden and yesterday Paul carefully re directed two outdoors.
I tend to have quiet Sundays so I don't have very much to write about.
I am going now to plant some Kale.
Thank you for your visits to my site and for kind stars.
