My grandmother's brother. Left Dun Laoghaire (Kingstown as it was known then) and never returned. Killed in Gallipoli on June 29, 2015.

It was a time when the first a family knew was when they received a letter of regret of a soldier's death. I always remember the Death Penny Plaque hung in my grandmother's house. Sad to see the War to end All Wars did not succeed and young men and women are dying in wars throughout the world.
