Chairs
One of the ways I’ve been lucky with the show is that I had a mentor, from the beginning. Sandra had her own grand opening today. She created a show centered on chairs, because when you want to have a seriously conversation you pull up a chair. Her show is comprised of chairs created by different artists on the topic of mental health. Today was the opening of the THIRD edition.
One of the chairs had a poem written on it. The chair design imitates kintsugi, or Japanese pottery that has broken and been repaired with gold. She’s painted blue and white koi on the chair, representing perseverance, transformation, and good fortune. The poem is:
Carry on, my sweet survivor
Carry on, my lonely friend.
Don’t give up on the dream
And don’t you let it end.
Carry on, my sweet survivor
Though we know that something’s gone
For every thing that matters,
Carry on
In an unreasonable burst of optimism I bought a bunch of groceries that require I cook. I bought raw chicken.
In a fit of sentimentality (?) I bought two avocados. I will miss avocados.
“The number of Britons who think Prime Minister Keir Starmer is doing a good job has risen as he steps up his role in diplomacy over the war in Ukraine, an opinion poll showed.”
Most Ukrainian male actors are at war so a small troupe has reinvented itself to have all female shows. Some of their shows raise money for the troops and often they weave camo nets before shows.
Trump called Zelensky a dictator and now Zelensky’s support in Ukraine has increased.
There are groups in Denmark and Sweden helping people boycott US goods in response to the US joining the axis of evil regarding Ukraine.
