Plaza de Isabel II (also known as Plaza Opera)

A wet and rainy day. Just as well I was marking! I had a break in the afternoon and took this blip on Plaza de Isabel II.

I met Bb after he’d finished his work in IESE and had made his way back into our Madrid barrio. The rain stopped us from going further afield, but the place we thought looked quite nice (we’re suckers for checked tablecloths!) was disappointing. Just after we’d ordered, they decided to wash the floors outside the bathrooms with a really very strong-smelling detergent. We cancelled our order and escaped to Taverna Real and shared a dish of fried habas (broad beans) and some nice crusty bread. Perfect.
