Vintage...
The old iPod MrsCyclops dug out last week for CyclopsJnr turns out to have a battery that only lasts about 10 minutes, so I had a rummage in my drawer.
My 160Gb iPod Classic was a Christmas present from MrsCyclops in 2007, 18 years ago. It was the subject of my 10th ever blip! I enjoyed it for many, many years and although largely redundant now it still works and seems to hold a charge pretty well. It's still a lovely object.
My iPod Nano was also blipped when new in 2011. I bought it on a US trip when the exchange rates made such purchases very attractive. It's mostly been used for running, but that didn't start until 2014 so I'm not sure quite what my need for a smaller iPod was at the time. I still think it's one of the neatest pieces of hardware I own - it's almost like something from SciFi with its bright and responsive touchscreen. Like its big brother it still works perfectly, although I think the battery only allows for about an hour of playback.
I've never been big into Apple products - in fact these are the only two I've ever felt compelled to buy. They have both stood the test of time well - good design and solid build quality!
I wonder if I can bring myself to lend one of them to CyclopsJnr for a bit :-)
