at least I think that's what these are the seeds of. Like most of the front garden, over now and in need of a bit of a trim.

In spite of the recent soakings by hose and storm it's very dry and many of the leaves are looking a bit threadbare. The rain seems to have encouraged the roses to put out some vigorous shoots so there's hope for next year.

As soon as I can I need to get out there with the secateurs and do some vigorous pruning!
