St John's Church
Before leaving Cowra this morning we needed to visit an acquaintance we ran into at the races who had acquired a new old motor bike (Vincent) since we first saw his impressive collection.
Then we had a leisurely trip home through the lovely central western countryside.
We stopped at the cemetery at Georges Plains where my parents and many paternal ancestors are interred. Sadly the beautiful little church which opened in 1868 has been closed for some years now and is in a state of some neglect. It was still functioning in 1982 when I attended my grandfather's funeral there.
Most of the windows are boarded up, but one was accessible and I was able to stick my camera in and get this shot. I was pleased to see it doesn't look too bad inside. I was also relieved to see the cemetery had recently been mown as I feared it might have been neglected too.
After sunny weather and temperatures in the low 30s we are now back to cold and drizzle.
