Cold swimming
Woke up to clear blue sky again this morning. Managed to get the van packed up and ready to leave after a bacon sandwich of the smoked bacon we bought at the smokery yesterday. Headed to St Abbs to park at the nature center and do the hilltop walk to the lighthouse. We have dived out of St Abbs loads but we have never walked along to the lighthouse. Dogs had a great time, and we had a short stop at the lighthouse before walking back. Stopped at the little bay we passed on the way out and Darwin had great swim and even Kilda went in to get her ball. Dogs were cold and tired after the swim so headed back to the van for some lunch and a quick look in the shops. Drove back home and stopped off at B&M to have a look at some boxes for the back of the van and managed to find some. Dogs were glad to be back home but not for long as we had a table booked at the Spanish Butcher for our anniversary. Nice cocktail while we waited for our table to be ready. Decided on a chateaubriand with the Spanish beef with a couple of sides. Waited for an hour for the food to be delivered while we drank the very nice wine, turns out the first chateaubriand wasn’t cooked well enough so they did another one and that’s why it took so long. Food arrived and it was worth the wait, not enough chips and they didn’t look hand cut but the cheese and truffle were nice. When the bill arrived the waiter asked if we wanted to reduce the service due to the wait, which would have meant they got less tip so I suggested they remove the cocktails instead which they preferred and were happy with. Came back to 2 excited dogs and watched a bit of TV.
