In Shrewsbury
I've been to Shrewsbury today with friend Rose. I drove, and we got the P&R into town. A visit to the Art shop for me where I picked up HH's print she did for me of the baby Raven I saw at the Art Exhibition a couple of weeks' ago, and I bought a couple of fountain Pen Inks.
Lunch at the gorgeous little Italian Restaurant near St Alkmunds Church. We had the pasta meal deal with a glass of wine followed by my favourite Italian pudding: Affogato, gorgeous.
A little bit of window shopping on our way up to M&S and had a trawl round there. No purchases made.
Waited for the 2.20pm P&R back to the car, which didn't arrive, nor did the 2.50, but one finally appeared at 3.15. Golly it was so cold waiting in the open bus shelter but the conversations covered many interesting topics and the people were lovely too, one couple on holiday from Cambridge, some from North Staffordshire and a lady from Canada (she had alot to say about a certain subject, I'm sure you can guess what). When a bus finally appeared there were loud cheers but no explanation by the driver was given for the delays.
On the way home I took Rose to the Churchyard where her son is buried. Richard died when he was only 7 of acute leukaemia; he would have been 57 today. 50 years ago Rose and J planted a Birch twig by his grave with a bench in front of it.
Look at the Birch twig now (Extra).
