From Castle Hill over Kendal to the fells
A day exploring in and around Kendal. First around the town, then up to view a property to buy in Natland and finally another walk in the town up to and around the castle.
A mainly sunny day, with a cold wind. We enjoyed Kendal town centre, stopping for coffee part the way round. Then it was up to Natland to look at a rather gorgeous house facing south and backing on to spectacular views. Unfortunately, we’re not yet in a position to buy. We wanted to see what was available as a bench mark for future viewings.
While we were having coffee I rang the estate agent to say we’d like to apply for the rental property in Lorton. We now have the forms to complete and see whether the Landlord accepts our application. We’ll hand the forms in tomorrow.
Natland is a very very pleasant place. Had very good vibes. We sat around the village green for lunch in the sunshine then strolled around the village. It would be a very agreeable place to live.
Kendal castle was also interesting giving 360 panoramic views of the town and surrounding hills and was where today’s blip was taken looking north. Kendal, like Penrith is a workaday town with independent shops as well as the usual suspects.
There was a very good sunset behind Orrest Head this evening which I’ve included as another extra.
This evening Blipper Nick_T and his partner came over from Penrith for dinner, they bravely enjoyed my veggie chilli, butter bean and celeriac mash as broccoli. (at least the broccoli was ok). A most enjoyable evening with an extensive and interesting range of conversation from photography to horse riding and all points in between.
