Elks Head Round

The Haltwhistle long walkers tackled a delightful circular walk from the Elks Head pub near Whitfield today. The walk started with a long climb up through the woods, resulting in some puffing and panting and muttering. The walk then "undulated", which is a term used by some walk leaders to conceal the number of ups and downs on a route!

I'm always on the lookout for photos to use for publicity and the walkers are used to this, even agreeing to smile occasionally! I decided to try this in mono in order to bring out the sky, but, I have to admit it also solved the problem of the main colours being green and red.........!

The pub was closed when we ended the walk. Arghh! So some of us went back to Haltwhistle to the Black Bull as usual.

Then I picked up the printed programmes in Hexham. It's always very exciting to see them in print and they look great.

Shattered +++++
