Snowdrop
We have been in this house for nigh on eight years and in all that time we have neither seen nor to the best of our knowledge planted a snowdrop in the garden. Yet, as soon as the snow began to clear last week up popped not one, not two, not even three or four but five clumps of them, all centred on the buried remains of an old potato cellar at the side of the house. Snowdrops they most certainly are though even though very small compared to what we would have been used to in Ireland. No matter, they have only just pushed their heads above ground, they may grow bigger yet but I couldn't resist stealing one to pop onto the lightbox for its fifteen minutes of fame, if I may quote Andy Warhol.
