The Long Stoop
Passed the Long Stoop on another walk to Stoodley Pike
The Long Stoop standing 9 foot tall is near Mankinholes, Todmorden, West Yorkshire.
The stone is probably late medieval in date and its origins were as a guidestone or boundary stone along what was the Long Causeway between Todmorden and Sowerby, marking the packhorse route over the Pennines.
However, today it is more of a guidestone marking the Pennine Way and the Calderdale Way combined.
Todmorden can be seen in the distance.
