The River Don Valley from Millmoor
My plan was to head for Wortley Hall where I thought I might take some in-camera images with my new camera/phone, so I missed the first opportunity to capture some amazing colour and light. There is a spot on our village road where I could have parked and by the time I saw the amazing blaze of orange on the Beech seedlings I’d got past it. I parked at the first lay-by on Halifax Road (actually links Sheffield to Huddersfield) and as you can see the sky was pretty dark and dramatic. I walked a little way into the wood, but it’s the outline of mature trees that I captured in this spot. I did get to Wortley just in time for the next shower. At home I’d had to wait for a hailstorm to pass before I set off, so I didn’t hang around.
Very tired when I got home and my tank was probably out of dopamine.
I came round enough to cook my Bream, which was really good - I think I’m getting the hang of it! Followed a bit later with a muddled conversation with Lyn as to whether she got my notes for the phone call to the consultant. Confusion, brain fog on my part, but eventually I closed down my email box and after the re-boot it sent them ok. I’m not sure what went wrong, but without the conversation I wouldn’t have known she hadn’t got the notes. She’s brilliant at writing in a way that consultants understand, so a very big thank you from me and a big hug. She too has health problems, but different ones.
