View of the Parterre at Chatelherault...

Enjoyed a relaxing walk after a long day at work... Chatelherault is the former Hunting Lodge of the Dukes of Hamilton and was built in the 18th century.

The story goes that one of the Dukes went to France, and stayed in a fine French Palace there. His host annoyed him by constantly boasting. On being asked how he liked the palace, he replied that it was adequate but he had the same for his horses back home... On his return, he had Chatelherault constructed...

True or false? Who knows... but we're lucky to have this lovely place to relax and wander in the lovely grounds...
