Midpoint of a holiday, sickness possibly abating
Poor Ottawacker Jr. is half-way through his March break and is only just starting to feel slightly better. While it might be a truism to say there is never a good time to be sick, this time it has been particularly unfair. At the end of a long, hard winter, a boy deserves a bit of leisure time; he has had to spend his locked indoors, coughing. Still, hopefully the worst is over for him. For Mrs. Ottawacker, it was also unfair. She took off two days to do something with him – and was sick herself. It’s been quite the fortnight for us all.
In a vain attempt to give Ottawacker Jr. something to do, I suggested a ride down to the airport so he could see some planes. He was very keen to do this – so we left, sat around by the runway for around 90 minutes, and he got to see several take-offs and landings from close up. Then we came home, had left overs for dinner (it seems we have eaten little but pork over the past 3-4 days), and then all fell asleep in front of a documentary about overtourism.
