Yellow road markings and the tarmac surface aside, Kirk Street  in Dunoon must look pretty much as it did a century or more ago.   Some of it will have been unchanged for even longer as the newest thing in this is the Old Kirk, which was built in 1816 , but on  or nearby a site that had been used for worship for a long time before that.   

This older part of the town isn't something that many visitors see, even though it is only five minutes from the ferry pier, which would probably be visible if the high wall on the right hand side wasn't there.
