Toughest working conditions

Today we made two trips to the Little Ran of Kutch, a salt marsh area of about 5000 sq kms. Once early in the morning and then again in the evening to avoid the heat of the day. It's a protected area (although not a National Park), famous for watching wildlife. Mainly famous for migratory birds and the Indian wild ass (see extras).

The visit to the salt panning workers was very impressive. Using the simplest means and standing in salt water, they have to circulate the water so that the desired salt crystals form. The team of two people will be living on site for a few months under the most basic conditions (see extra).

I can currently only download blips via my smartphone, which means I can't comment on anything at the moment. We don't have working internet in our (otherwise very good) accommodation.
